Professional and conversational lessons

What's the difference?

At English Steps we offer you two different types of private lessons, so that you always get what you want from our lessons.

All lessons are taken by our qualified and experienced teachers and you can take a mixture of professional and conversational lessons - there is no obligation to choose one type.

Below are the main differences between the two types:

Professional

You and your teacher will work together on your learning objectives. Each lesson will be prepared in advance and include homework for you to do for the next lesson. Your teacher will prepare work to improve your English where you need it most - grammar, pronunciation, listening, speaking, reading and writing. We can also offer exam preparation lessons and business English lessons, to make sure you go forward in your career and with your English.

Conversational

Every lesson your teacher will arrive with a conversation 'topic' and you will ask you questions and have a conversation on this area. You can choose the topics you want to cover yourself, or your teacher can choose for you. Mistakes will be corrected during the lesson and the focus is on improving your fluency and listening skills in a variety of situations.
